Change to the TLS protocol for Prism and Admin Console Thursday 17th October 2024

We’re pleased to announce that to further enhance the security of the Prism and Admin Console web applications, we have made the following changes to the LIVE environment:

  • TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 have been deprecated.
  • TLS 1.2 continues to be supported and is now the only protocol actively used for secure communications.

Please note that while TLS 1.2 was previously supported, we have now formally disabled older protocols in LIVE, to ensure a higher level of security. Your access to Prism through web browsers remains unchanged, and no action is required on your part.

We have fixed some issues related to fields being incorrectly labelled or not labelled (WCAG 1.3.1. Info and Relationships and WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value) which may hinder assistive technologies’ ability to navigate the screen. Changes have been made on the following screens:

  • On pages where the search field is displayed, an aria-label has been added to the Local catalogue drop down.

On the Login to My account page, the autocomplete attribute had been used incorrectly on the PIN field (WCAG 1.3.5 Identify input purpose). This has been fixed.

On the following pages, the ‘Prism’ link in the footer is now underlined (WCAG 1.4.1 Use of Color) and displays when zoomed in at 200% and 400% (WCAG 1.4.4 and WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow)
