Prism release 5th March 2014

We’re pleased to announce that the version of Prism that has been in preview recently has now been deployed to the live service, as planned. Details of the inclusions are described in the preview release notice.

In addition to the update to the preview last week, we have now also fixed two other issues:

  • to ensure that the Community Contributions panel always displays in Item Detail pages when Reviews are enabled
  • to ensure that the Year Published facet sliders work on tablet devices when they render the desktop Prism interface rather than the mobile interface.

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please get in touch. You can comment here on the blog, on the Prism forum and Prism Ideas or contact your Account Manager or the Prism team directly.

We have not got Reviews enabled but the Community Contributions panel now appears in every Item Detail page saying “This item appears on the lists . . .” (ie no List). Is there a way to not show this panel when blank?

  2. Terry Willan Says:

Hi Tom, for simplicity and to fix problems we changed the behaviour of the Community Contributions panel for Lists to be the same as for Reviews and Tags: if it is enabled then it will display, regardless of whether there is any content for the current item. With tags and reviews this is necessary to give the user the option to add a tag or review. Lists are different in that you add the item to a list via the Save button. But having the entry in the Community Contributions panel does give you a shortcut to Everybody’s lists, via the ‘Recent lists’ link.

when I see a review for a book in the Moderation list, I can see the borrower no of the reviewer, how to I tell what the book is?

  4. Terry Willan Says:

If there is some problem with the review, having the borrower barcode number allows you to look them up and possibly contact them. Since the purpose is to moderate the review it does not seem strictly necessary to display the item being reviewed. Feel free to add it to Prism Ideas if there is a good reason to have the item information.
