Prism release to preview Wednesday 12th February 2025
We’re pleased to announce that the next release of Prism is now available for preview. This release includes the items below:
- Further accessibility fixes
- Updated accessibility statement
- Fix to the display of eJournals when they are on loan in My account
- Fix to prevent multiple borrower records being created from Prism Pro Borrower join
- Changes to address cross-site scripting vulnerabilities
Further accessibility fixes
The issues with the search target drop-down that appears at the top of various pages (e.g. Home, Accessibility, Feedback, the My account screens) has been resolved. (WCAG criteria 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value.))
We have fixed some issues related insufficient colour contrast (WCAG 1.4.3 (Contrast minimum)) on various pages, including My account> Contact options, Everybody’s Lists, any selected list from Everybody’s List and Community contributions> Popular tags.
On a number of pages there were links that relied solely on colour to make them distinguishable (WCAG 1.4.1 (Use of Color)). These include: Login to My Account, Accessibility, Everybody’s Lists, any search results page, Community contributions> Browse review, and the Build search pop-up.
On various pages (e.g. Help, Accessibility, any selected full record page) there weretouch targets that didn’t have sufficient size or spacing (WCAG 2.5.8 (Target Size (Minimum)).
We have fixed a number of pages (e.g. Community contributions – Popular tags, Community contributions – Add review and Community contributions – Browse review) so they now include the title element (WCAG 2.4.2 (Page Titled)).
On the Build search pop-up and any selected full record, we have added the required parent element for the ARIA child roles (WCAG 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships)).
Updated accessibility statement
The default accessibility statement within Prism has been updated following a review.
Fix to the display of eJournals when they are on loan in My account
Where magazine or periodical issues are borrowed through BorrowBox, the Format field in My account-> eContent is now populated with eJournal.
Fix to prevent multiple borrower records being created from Prism Pro Borrower Join
If the Prism Pro Borrower Join form has been implemented and someone uses it to join the library, only one record will be created for the new borrower even if the Join button is pressed multiple times.
Changes to address cross-site scripting vulnerabilities
We have made changes on a number of screens to protect fields from cross-site scripting attacks, e.g. Build search, create new list pop-up.
Release procedure
Please review the preview version as early as possible, to familiarise yourself with the new functionality and to check that the existing functionality, extensions and styling still work as expected.
It is necessary to use the prism-demo.librarymanagementcloud.co.uk/{your tenancy name} URL to preview a release, even if you have your own host name for the live service.
Release to the live service
Prism will be released to the live service on Tuesday 25th February 2025.
