Soprano release to preview Tuesday 13th June 2023

We’re pleased to announce that the next release of Soprano is now available for preview. This release includes:

  • Display of the ILL Total Limit when viewing ILL requests and on the Borrower> ILL tab
  • Optional addition of ILL renewals to the ILL Total Limit (LDS 2.9.29)
  • Two-step verification enhancements

Display of the ILL Total Limit when viewing ILL requests and on the Borrower> ILL tab

By default the Total Limit reflects the number of ILL requests created since the Total Limit Start Date set in Configure Alto. It is used to control how many ILL requests the borrower can create ‘this year’ so the Total Limit Start Date is often set to the start of the year, or the academic year.

When viewing an ILL request, the Total Limit is now displayed with the Active count below the borrower details.

The Total Limit now appears with the Active count when verifying an ILL request.

On the Borrower> ILL tab, the Active and Total Limit counts are now displayed beside the Filter Active ILLs toggles to make the display clearer. The ALL option shows all the ILL requests a page at a time, in descending create date order, regardless of when they were created.

Optional addition of ILL renewals to the total number of ILL requests count

A new parameter can now be set in the LDS configuration file to include the number of renewals carried out since the Total Limit Start Date in the Total Limit. Once this has been set the number of renewals is included wherever the Total Limit is displayed. By default, renewals are not included in the Total Limit. The total displayed in Prism> My account also reflects the setting of the parameter in the LDS. Please note that this feature requires LDS 2.9.29.

For information, by default Cancelled ILL requests created since the Total Limit Start Date are also included in the Total Limit. A parameter in the LDS configuration file can be used to exclude these from the count.

If you require one or both of these parameters to be set, please contact the Support team.

Two-step verification enhancements

Improved display name in the authentication app

Now when two-step verification is set up through the admin console, if the QR code is used to set up the ‘Authenticator’, the name of the entry will be similar to the following:

LMC Soprano Live: operator_login@tenancy_name

For example:

LMC Soprano Live: KS6@birmingham

Logging in using two step verification takes you to the Home page

Now after logging in using two-step verification, the user will be taken to the Home page rather than the borrower page.
